I have moved :)

As you may know, I have recently completed an amazing session of the Tao Holistic Healing Program and moved to Sedona, Arizona to work for the publishing company that publishes Ilchi Lee’s Books:  Best Life Media.

My sharing about the Tao Holistic Healing Program is that everyone should take it if they can :) You really learn Dahn principle, how to heal your body, and how to live for your true self, by experiencing it in your body. It involves exercise and education that allow you to see yourself and your habits clearly. The exercises are simple, but you go much deeper with them than you could go on your own. You really grow to understand what it takes to heal yourself on every level. And it is possible for people with a very poor body condition and limited movement to participate. Anyone can do it if they have the will to grow.

Keep growing everyone in Boston! I will continue to share with you through this blog.

Sleeping Tiger Video

Many members in Boston may remember Meredith Potter, a Dahn Instructor who left last summer to attend the Langara College & Documentary Filmaking Program. She produced and directed a great video on Dahn Yoga and the sleeping tiger posture. I think the video has a great feel to it– soft, light, and warm. Why don’t you enjoy it for yourself and send Meredith a comment!

DahnMuDo School Sharing

I just read a really amazing sharing about DahnMuDo School on http://dahnmudoma.blogspot.com/. Why don’t you check it out. It sounds like Barbara Morejon from the Glendale Center got all of the benefits we advertise DahnMuDo School for and more. I was blown away on one level, but not surprised on another because my own DahnMuDo School experience was truly wonderful. One of the best parts I think is that you take what you learn away with you so you can practice it and make it a part of your life :)

Watching

I have been focusing lately on accumulating physical energy in my body. So I’ve been watching very closely how everything I do adds or subtracts energy and where. There are so many subtle things going on in my body and my mind that I would never be aware of if it wasn’t for this Dahn Yoga practice. I feel pretty lucky and grateful for this time in my life.

Shim Sung Success!

Yellow RoseYellow RoseYellow RoseYellow RoseYellow RoseYellow Rose

I was very inspired by this past weekend’s Shim Sung workshop. Actually, only 5 people completed the workshop, including my sister. But through the devotion of the staff, the sincerity of the participants, and the effectiveness of the program, all five of them really uncovered the natural love inside that is their true self. It strengthened my faith in the power and the value of the Shim Sung workshop. I really hope everyone can take it!

Sharing from the January 10th Dahn Yoga Newsletter

This is from Karen S. in New York City:

Last June I was unhappy, physically weak, and obese. I had been putting barriers around myself for years to keep the world at a distance. The added weight had weakened my body and was eating away at my emotional well-being. The increase in my size caused my balance to change. This caused some injuries to my knee and shoulder. I was harming myself. I knew I needed to change. Dahn Yoga has given me the tools to change myself, and it’s up to me to make these changes.

During the past year, I have gained a strong, fit body and shed more than 70 pounds. I have lots of energy, more confidence, better concentration, and more emotional strength. The program that was pivotal in evoking these changes for me was Shim Sung (Self-discover) Workshop. Each workshop and program I have attended has benefited me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I gain so much from each program. Through support from the teachers, members, attending regular classes, and special workshops, I’ve been through a wonderful transformation!

One of the best bonuses is that I have found myself. Buried deep within me is this person who I always was. I’m so happy and grateful that I have discovered her! I’m having so much fun!

Shim Sung This Weekend!

As always, I am very excited for the Shim Sung Workshop that will be held at the Jamaica Plain Center this weekend. I am especially excited about this one because my sister will be taking it. Recently I found an old sharing about Shim Sung from an Andover Center member. I don’t know if she’s still a member, but here is her sharing after Shim Sung:

Shim Sung was the most powerful experience in my life. It shook my whole self. On the first day of the workshop I was able to completely release my heart blockage and could breathe freely. I felt a lot of energy and warmth, and I started to feel my soul.

Working with my partner was really helpful to learn how to communicate without talking. At the beginning I was thinking that the warmth and love I felt was just for this person, because I liked my partner so much. But at the end, I understood that I like everyone as much if I listen with my heart. I could feel a lot of love in return from everyone in the room. It was amazing.

I was able to understand who I am and what I want during the second day of training. I am just part of the universe and all the universe is in me. I found I wanted peace with myself, my family and the world. Also, I was able to start to understand how 100% of will is important in achieving your goals. I hardly used it until now. My eyes see differently now; I feel as if I am twenty again, with a lot of energy and hope.

I came home with more love for my family. The kids felt it and just wanted to be near me. I hope this workshop will change my life forever.

Our very own John Daniels did a Dahn Mu Do demonstration at a Dahn Mu Do School graduation, although I don’t know which one. He did a great job!

Group Healing with Chun Shim nim

Master healer Chun Shim nim offered her group healing program for several years. After taking a hiatus for about a year, the program is back at the Newton Center. This program offers intensive healing in a supportive small group setting. It teaches participants to heal themselves, especially their organs, and deeply understand the connection between their 3 bodies– their physical, energetic, and spiritual (set of information) bodies. Participants have seen dramatic results, including weight loss. Here is a sharing from Maryann from the Beacon Hill Center:

I have been a nurse for 26 years and I have spent 22 of them at Massachusetts General Hospital.  I was diagnosed with bladder / ureter cancer in 1997 and endured 2 years of chemotherapy treatment, various surgical procedures and chronic back pain.  My work as a labor and delivery nurse was adversely affected as I found myself tired, over stressed and too uncomfortable to perform the duties associated with my position.  I decided to take an office position in 2000 to let my body rest. During the five years in that position I became very depressed, I gained excessive weight and I began to consume an excessive amount of alcohol.  I believe that I was attempting to anesthetize myself so that I would not feel anything.  I was about to have my 45th birthday in May of 2005 and I decided that I wanted to

do something about my poor physical condition.  I found myself in a Dahn Center and I immediately signed up for the 6-month intensive program, which included 3 workshops.  I felt strong energy awakenings from the very first class and found myself very confused and frightened because I had no prior experience or knowledge of energy and I was not accustomed to feeling anything in my body.  I reluctantly agreed to trial the group healing class and I stopped after one month because I was skeptical about the expense, the time commitment and the benefits of the exercises.  Something prompted me to continue and I found myself returning to group healing classes for 1 day/week from January to June.  One aspect of healing involved being guided to watch my habits, my emotions and my body’s response to my emotions.  I became awakened to the stiffness and rigidness of my intestines through abdominal massage and then I gradually witnessed my intestines soften with daily morning abdominal massage.  The next step for me involved learning to focus my attention to isolate and move each individual organ through an exercise called “organ dancing.”  I’m now able to sense and feel more subtle and deeper vibrations in my spine.Through this healing process I have become sensitized to the effects of fear on my kidneys, my bladder and their associated meridians.  Because this healing process for me involved pushing through a great deal of fear, I now feel that I have more insight to my body’s way of holding fear and the association with my urinary cancer.  I have lost 55 pounds, stopped drinking alcohol completely, stopped all of my prescription medications for depression and anxiety and I have returned to patient care nursing on the OB unit.  I am enjoying good health again for the first time since 1997.Maryann Healer Nim

Bowing Meditation

Lately my personal exercise practice has included 300 bows per day. I have only been doing it a couple of weeks, but it has been amazing so far. It has taught me how important deep and thorough circulation is to my body, mind, and spirit. It helps me connect to my essence, or true self, a least a little every day, so it feels truly special.

Since the last Shim Sung in Boston in November, a group of Shim Sung recent and former graduates have been doing a 21 day followup training that includes bowing exercise. It is amazing to see their shining faces when they come out of the training. They seem to be transforming themselves a little every day. That’s one thing that is amazing to me about Dahn Yoga. One simple practice repeated consistently can connect you to your true self!
