Good News: November 15, 2007

Tonight current healers and potential future healers got together at Arlington Center to hear sharings about Dahn Healing System, practice healing techniques on each other, and share food and laughter. It’s one of those special events when members of the Dahn healing community can get together and share their beautiful healing energy in a space where people are open and happy. I’m so happy we  have something like that here in Boston!

Good News: November 13, 2007

Last year a Boston College researcher asked Dahn Yoga members in Boston (among members of other practices) if they would take a survey about their mind-body-spirit (MBS) practice. The results of the  study was recently published in the International Journal of Mental Health Promotion in the August 2007 issue (Volume 9, Issue 3). The study addresses how MBS practices “affect psychological wellbeing, health, and spirituality and altruistic behaviors”. The Dahn Healing Research Center is mentioned in the article!

In other news…one of the members who touched his toes last week can now make a half-lotus posture with at least one leg on top. He’s working on the other one now. He’s very diligent and comes almost everyday and has only been coming for about 2.5 weeks. Now that’s progress!

Today two male Jamaica Plain members touched their toes! They had not been able to before and they were so happy! We took pictures :)

I was reminded today that nurses can get contact hours (continuing education credits) for attending the Shim Sung workshop. It’s a great way to engage in your own self healing in order to heal others. And it’s an added bonus to the already significant benefit you receive from attending the Shim Sung workshop!

Good News: October 21, 2007

This weekend we held the Shim Sung workshop at the Jamaica Plain center! Twenty-six courageous people took two days out of their busy lives to dig deep and develop a distinct sense of their essential nature, or their true self. It’s a very precious feeling that takes practice and effort to maintain in everyday life. I love helping to staff this workshop because I get to soak up the energy created by the beautiful participants. It reminds me of what is inside all of us.

Good News: October 16, 2007

Maybe you have to be a Dahn Instructor to appreciate this news, but today 6 people attended the abbreviated Gateway to HSP workshop here at the Jamaica Plain Center. When they were leaving they seems very relaxed, soft, and bright– meaning they had a good training and felt better afterward.

We often use words like that in Dahn practice to describe people’s looks and energy. As just words, they sound kind of strange because they are not commonly used to describe people that way. But if you could see the people leaving last night, you would know exactly what I mean. It has only been through Dahn training that I’ve seen people’s seem that way in particular…relaxed, soft, open, bright, smiling, and more pure.

Good News: October 12, 2007

Today a man past middle age came for his first class at the center, but since Friday vibration class was a little difficult for him, we did some private vibration training and intestine exercises instead. He’s starting with training wheels. It was amazing to me because, even though he is still learning to focus on himself and his body, and not talk during exercise, and even though he cannot do any particular exercise for very long, he still felt more relaxed afterward. He did a really great job! How well this “Human Technology” that Ilchi Lee has shared works is continually affirmed through my everyday experiences.

Good News: October 11, 2007

This evening at the Jamaica Plain Dahn Yoga Center where I work, we held a Open Healing Night. JP members came, some with family or friends, and learned simple exercises and acupressure points for common ailments such as headaches, insomnia, lack of focus, and carrying too much weight. They learned the principle and healing properties of common exercises we do in class. It was so beautiful to see everyone having so much fun and learning things they could take home with them. They seemed to really like it and understand the practice a  little better. One person who has lived on the same block as the center since it opened, and who has come by several times, actually decided to start taking classes tomorrow :)

Good News: October 10th, 2007

Jim, a Dahn Healer at the Newton Center, recently attending the Fasting and Meditation Program at the BEST 5 Resort and Spa in Ellenville, New York. He reports that he lost 10 lbs. in three days and that he connected his mind to his body more. Now his mind listens to his body. He was so positive about his experience that he would like to share it with anyone who would like to come to the Newton Center this Sunday, October 14th, for a potlock brunch from 10 am to 12 noon.

This kind of mastership over mind and body sounds like something many of us are working on. I wonder how Jim did it!

Good News

Ilchi Lee has said, “Good news makes a good brain.” I’ve experienced the difference between having a positive mind versus a negative mind many times in my life. So I’d like to offer some healing through this website by writing good news every day. It will be a good exercise for me to focus on the positive. If you would also like to do this exercise and share your good news for the day, large or small, please comment on these posts :)
