This degree could help people pursue an accounting career
Many people who are looking for personal change often turn to their education background in order to figure out where they want to go in life.
Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is aiming to help those who are trying to pursue advanced credentials in finance but cannot make it to campus, by creating a new online bachelor's of science degree in accounting.
School officials are hopeful that this will allow the program to reach a larger audience than it would at the brick-and-mortar institution. When enrolling in the curriculum (awkward phrasing), students will be taught how to prepare taxes and can take classes that can go toward becoming a certified public accountant and certified management accountant.
This degree program could also be putting students on the fast track to a career opportunity, as government agencies have reported that accounting professions appear to be highly in-demand in the current job market.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported that employment in the field will grow by 22 percent through the year 2018.
