Expanding the Window of Consciousness

Let us compare diagrams A and B. Let’s compare each panel of the window to a limit of consciousness for a specific individual. And let’s compare the arrow to our own awareness. As Prof. Ilchi Lee writes in his book if we were to use the whole window with its four panels, then we would be able to see a bigger picture through the window. We would also be able to see in all directions. If our awareness is thus limited by the boundaries of the window of consciousness, then we would only be able to “see” in a certain direction, unless we expand the window of consciousness to allow the arrow to turn fully in all directions.

Therefore, a person looking at the world through A and a different person looking at the world through B will see the same thing. However, they will take away a totally different awareness of what they have each, individually, seen. Brain Softening Exercises seek to expand your horizon of consciousness so that you will not limit your awareness. You will be able to experience a deeper reality and gain insight into the underlying dynamics of the world today.

Enhanced Cognitive Experience

Brain Softening and Yoga Exercises will enhance communication among the neurons in the brain, increasing communication and cooperation. This will lead to enhanced clarity and insight of all cognitive activities and to expansion of our window of consciousness.

Ilchi Lee Brain research shows that the five senses, as well as language, intellect, logic, etc. have their own respective areas in the brain. However, in many cases, if a part of the brain is damaged, other parts take up at least a portion of the activity lost by the damaged brain, displaying amazing adaptability for such a complex organ. Also, the brain enhances sensitivity of a specific sense when it has been deprived of information from another of the senses. For example, a blind pianist may memorize a whole song by listening to it just once. Our own experience tells us that our hearing becomes sharper at night. This is because our brain has assigned higher priority to our hearing during the night to compensate for lack of visual information. By taking conscious advantage of this innate ability of our brain, we can see, hear and taste better… we can have a livelier, richer experience of life.

BR Cortex Stage – Brain Softening

Imagine the brain of a newborn. What type of brain would a baby with an innocent smile have? No matter what it looks like, it will be fully open to new, exciting information and experiences. Ilchi Lee says that our own brain was surely like this when we were born.

However, as we grew up and were subjected to different information, we developed our own mental cage, built out of habits and preconceptions.

Brain Softening, unlike the name suggests, will not melt your brain. It will introduce flexibility and malleability into your thought processes, allowing you to break out of the inner cage of your own making. It will help you free yourself in a significant way. When certain obstacles are removed, our brain responds with more creativity and receptivity to new information.

Self-Help: Direct Energy Where Needed

If one side is less responsive than the other, place both hands on the less responsive side and mentally whisper positive messages of support to your brain

Rub your hands briskly, until warmed, and gently massage your face, neck, and head.

The neo-cortex is the seat of human intellect and higher cognitive function, and requires a lot of energy and oxygen. Try concentrating the energy flow to the neo-cortex. Also, try directing the energy flow to each hemisphere. If you have recently been engaged in logical thinking or mathematical activities, send energy to the left side of your brain. If you have been engaged in creative and artistic activities, soothe the right brain with energy.

Drain Energy Exercise Instructions

Ilchi Lee says that if you are sitting on a chair, rest your hands gently on your thighs. If you are sitting on the ground in a half lotus position, lightly rest your hands on your knees.

Lift your right hand and have your palm facing the right side of your face, about one to two inches from your face.

Feeling the sensation of the energy in your hand (keeping your hand one to two inches from your face), sweep down the right side of your face with a slow, deliberate motion. Move your right hand upward from your forehead and then down along the contour of your head to the base of your head. Circle your hand around the right side of your brain and feel the energy of your brain radiate out toward your hand. Once you have felt the energy, lower your hand slowly.

Now raise both hands and feel the energy from both hemispheres at the same time.

Brain Energy Exercise

Brain Energy Exercise trains you to feel your brain through the energy in your hands. According to Dr. Ilchi Lee views since our hands are the parts of our body most sensitive to the flow of energy, even beginners can easily feel the sensation of the brain with the exchange of energy between the hands. As you concentrate on your hands and massage your face and head, you will feel the vibration of energy emitted by brain activity.

What does the brain’s energy vibration feel like? Although it will vary from person to person, the sensation feels similar to that felt during Ji-gam exercise… tingling, prickling, tickling… no matter how small or subtle the feeling, it is important to latch on to it and let it expand.

When sensitivity to your brain is heightened in Dahnhak, you will be able to diagnose parts of your brain that are being overused, parts that have become rigid due to non use, and areas that have become obstructed. You can then heal your own brain by directing a nourishing flow of energy to the parts of the brain that need it. According to the principle of Shim-Ki-Hyul-Jung, increasing the supply of blood and oxygen, as well as the development of new synapses, will enhance the brains condition and increase its efficiency. This exercise also has an immediate effect ot decreasing tension brought about by stress.

How To Observe Your Whole Brain Floating In Space

Then gaze at the length of the lower medulla’s spindly, cylindrical column, connecting to the spinal cord

As Ilchi Lee instructs now, pull your gaze back and observe your whole brain floating in space, rotating slowly in front of you. Quickly touch the various parts of your brain that you have seen, from the neo-cortex to the limbic system, to the essential parts of the brain stem.

Breathe in and out deeply three times and open your eyes. As you breathe out, imagine that the stagnant energy in your brain is escaping through your breath.

Rub your hands briskly until warmed, and then, gently massage your face, neck, and head.

Revolution vs Rotation Rule

The benefits of Yoga studio, however, extend well beyound physical health.

Rule One, Revolution vs. Rotation. The Earth rotates on its own axis while revolving around the sun. As in all of these rules, the order of the descriptive terms is crucial. Rotation must not come first, or at the expense of revolution. Likewise, you cannot put your own self-interest in front of the collective good. In this case, if revolution itself stops, the result will be an abrupt halt in rotation. In other words, self-destruction will occur. If the order of the solar system were to break down, the Earth could not exist its own. Individual action that does not add constructively to movement of the whole is bound cause trouble. When our consciousness is in synchronicity with the process of collective revolution, we will judge the desirability of our individual actions by first consulting a standard for collective good, and abide by the rules of harmonious living.

Rule Two, as  Professor Ilchi Lee says Centripetal rs. (As in object rotates around a central axis, the lotxc lli.il [Mills llic object toward the center, keeping it in a stable broil, is t centripetal force. This is basic high school physics. Imagine you are swinging a sling whose pouch contains a rock, above your head. Your arm provides the centripetal force thai keeps the rock from flying off into the air. The rock’s tendency lo My oil at every turn is the centrifugal force. A combination ol the centripetal and centrifugal forces keeps the rock in proper orbit, balanced, potential constructive energy.

Centrifugal force, the individual, must not become stronger than the centripetal force, or community, or it will destroy the balance and the individual will fly oil into oblivion. Centripetal force without its centrifugal counterpart is a mere possibility, without real force. Conversely, centrihig.il lorce without centripetal counterbalance is a destructive ami unbalancing force. Only when balance between the forces is stable is the overall movement of the system similarly stable.

Principles Of Harmony

According to Lee Ilchi when all have recovered the principle of harmony, we will have peace. When all awaken to their true peaceful human nature and adhere to the principles ol harmonious living, sell-interest will no longer be socially acceptable. Selfishness can exist in society only when others do not recognize il .is being unreasonable. When we no longer tolerate selfishness, a peaceful collective conscience will prevail. This will give rise to a culture of harmony.

Basic Rules of Peaceology

Peace is the healthy and harmonious order ol life. The nucleus of this order consists of two factors: an unchangeable central point and a set of rules thai governs movement around the center. Only when all ol the various parts of a system agree upon a center and move according to a certain set of rules, is total and comprehensive order possible. For this to happen, this center must be a point on which all elements of the system agree. 1( must have unanimous appeal and universal meaning of greater impor tance than the differences inevitable to any system. Furthermore, the rules that govern the separate elements the system must be fair and consistent and must be essential to the co-existence and co-operation of the system. Only then will all the different elements of a system accept the rules willingly and co-create a healthy and harmonious order that will, in turn, benefit all elements of the system.

The three basic rules needed for creation of a system of harmonious order are as follows: Revolution vs. Rotation, Centripetal vs. Centrifugal Force, and Fairness vs. Equality. These three “rules” provide not only the principle underpinnings of a harmonious order but also strength to maintain it. In short, these are rules for peace. The reason the human body works so well, is that the body operates according to these rules.
