East Meets West

Doctor Lee a brain educator

Although rooted in ancient Eastern thought, the BEST 5 program boldly seeks to integrate that which is best in both Eastern and Western thought. We see no contradiction in living life according to the principles of Tao, while valuing and using the discoveries of scientific research. We believe that the mystical and the rational, the esoteric and the scientific, ultimately come together as one.

As brain philosophers and brain educators, BEST 5 instructors do not wait for the rigors of science to “prove” the efficacy of any particular exercise. Time is short, and the condition of humanity is dire. The intention of BEST is to bring greater health, happiness, and peace to humanity in this lifetime, and the experiences of BEST practitioners continue to solidify our belief in the profound usefulness of these methods. BEST 5 is a philosophically based educational method that will continually refine itself as our experience and understanding grow broader and deeper.

Debates about the nature of mind aside, the more concrete physical benefits of the BEST 5 approach are clear. The physiological effects of the first BEST step, Brain Sensitizing, are perhaps the most easily understood. Practitioners can verify the effects through their own experience very early in the training process. For example, they may notice improved circulation as their hands and feet become warm for the first time in years, or they may feel more energized and awake throughout the day.
