Our very own John Daniels did a Dahn Mu Do demonstration at a Dahn Mu Do School graduation, although I don’t know which one. He did a great job!

Tae Geuk Ki Gong Demonstration

I love watching demonstrations of the Dahn Gong (or Dahn Tai Chi) form Tae Geuk Ki Gong. It is so powerful and I would love to learn it. I actually found a demonstration on You Tube, as well as several others you will see on this site soon.  Enjoy!

Holiday Heart-Warmer a Success!

Those of you who were there aleady know how heart-warming the YEHA/Phoenix Project Holiday Heart-Warmer was. Thirty-six Dahn Yoga members from around the greater Boston metro area attended, some bringing friends. They ate, participated in a silent auction, saw dance and DahnMuDo performances, and danced and did DahnMuDo themselves. The Phoenix Project raised over $1000 from the event and the attendants seemed to renew and refresh that precious Dahn healing community. If anyone has anything to share about the night, please feel free to comment here!

Brain Wave Vibration relieves trauma

Lately Brain Wave Vibration (BWV) Training has been all the rage at Dahn Yoga centers around the world. On dahnyogany.com, I found this sharing from Japan:

A late 20’s female member in Japan said that after not having a menstrual cycle for over ten years after an earth quake trauma, she started having it soon after BWV training classes. Once she gave up being a woman, but she got her womanhood back through the training.

Good News: December 10, 2007

We had Shim Sung here at the Jamaica Plain this past weekend. I actually don’t know what to say about it because it was basically the usual Shim Sung. But every Shim Sung is so amazing and special for everyone involved, staff and participants (whether the participants all like it or not, it is usually amazing and special), that I feel like it’s good news. My whole body is still going, “Shim Sung! Shim Sung! Shim Sung!”

This celebratory spirit will be carried on this week at the Jamaica Plain Center by the  Holiday Potluck party tomorrow night, the beginning of the 21-day Shim Sung followup right afterwards, and the YEHA Holiday-Heartwarmer on Friday.

What’s going on in your center this month?

Announcing: The “YEHA Holiday Heart Warmer”. This is an exciting event happening on Friday December 14 at the Jamaica Plain Center. Hosted by the Boston YEHA/Phoenix Team, they are bringing together Dahn members, friends and family for a heart warming holiday celebration.

The event will include Dahn Mu Do, Dancing, and some special performances by some of The Boston Phoenixes.  Before and after the event people will be invited to take part in the Silent Auction.  So far the auction will include items from Verizon, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, Henry Bear Park, Lush, many local artists (framed artwork, holiday cards, handbags), CD’s from Snatam Kaur, Organic Health products, Not Your Average Joe’s, CVS, and more!!!   Starbucks will also be generously donating food and refreshments for our event and sending some of their employees to participate. And canned goods will be collected as a donation to The Greater Boston Food Bank.

The proceeds will go to the 302(c) non-profit Dahn Foundation for grants to help future passionate young adults participate in the Phoenix Project. Please come out and celebrate for a good cause!

Wisdom of the Chun Bu Kyung: December 7, 2007

Today’s card is Il (One, Origin).

There are many cards with Il in the Chun Bu Kyung deck because it recurs many times in the “Heavenly Code”. The meditation on the card I pulled is:

Compassion comes from an awareness of oneness.

True compassion is letting the healing energy of your true nature flow toward the sadness and pain of others. Compassion comes from a deep realization that you are inseparably one with all things in creation.

How can you not feel compassion when you feel one with everything? It just naturally flows. This card seem particularly appropriate considering we are having the Shim Sung workshop here at the Jamaica Plain Dahn Center this weekend. During the workshop, participants can uncover all of the layers we create over our true nature. Sadness and pain are just layers covering the joy of our true nature. Sometimes it seems strange to me that there are many people in this world who have not experienced their true nature. Then my own compassion flows toward them.

Enjoy your true nature today! You can use commenting on this post as a way of sharing your experiences of your true nature :)
